The principal financial market activities of Agricultural Bank of China (DIFC Branch) encompass inter-bank lending and borrowing, foreign exchange and derivatives trading (including FX spot, FX forwards and FX swaps), bond investment, and the issuance of debt instruments.

The Branch has actively performed as a bridge connecting China and international capital markets. In 2014, the Branch became the first Chinese financial institution issuing RMB bonds in the Middle East, 1 billion RMB bond was issued and listed on Nasdaq Dubai. In 2015, the Branch participated in the underwriting of the first offshore RMB notes issued by the People’s Bank of China and distributed the first China domestic free trade zone bond issued by the Shanghai Municipal Government. As one of the first batch of overseas investors under “Bond Connect” program, the Branch completed the first credit bond transaction and started the deep involvement in China’s inter-bank market, including foreign exchange, repo and bond investment business. In 2024, the Branch successfully issued USD400 million floating-rate bond facilitating the Belt and Road cooperation supporting the related assets and high-quality development along the adjacent countries.
